Eric Wagner
Director – Plant Southeast
As Director, Eric leads Garney’s construction teams through all phases of project delivery. He is an instrumental champion for Garney’s work acquisition, including both hard bid and collaborative delivery procurement efforts, and he frequently contributes to estimates, proposals, presentations, and contract negotiations. Through Eric’s holistic involvement in the project lifecycle, he ensures continued client satisfaction with Garney’s services, resulting in repeat business of many of our Southeastern clients.
Eric’s entire career has focused solely on the construction of water and wastewater facilities, beginning in 1997 as a co-op where he supported construction efforts of a wastewater treatment plant. By 1999, he graduated from the University of Akron-Ohio with a degree in civil engineering and started working for a national treatment plant contractor. In 2004, Eric joined Encore Construction (now Garney Construction) as a Project Manager, and six years into his tenure, he expanded his leadership career to Garney’s Preconstruction and Estimating departments. By May 2018, Eric was promoted to Director, a role that has led him to successfully deliver some of Garney’s largest and most complex treatment plants. He also serves as an ESOP Trustee for Garney, responsible for administering the ESOP and managing the assets of the plan
Through his years working in and around all things water, both in the office and in the field, Eric has gained a comprehensive understanding of many of the challenges that both contractors and owners face in the delivery of their projects.
