Pipe

Garney is the largest contractor for conveyance projects in the country. We continue to lead the industry rankings in transporting safe drinking water to customers and moving wastewater and stormwater to treatment facilities for treatment, discharge, or reuse. Since 1961, we have specialized in pipeline installations across the United States, installing pipelines up to 156″ in diameter in all types of soil conditions. We have installed millions of miles of water, sewer, and storm system pipes with numerous pipe materials, including concrete, steel, ductile iron, fiberglass, PVC, and HDPE.

Plant

Garney is one of the nation’s leading water supply and wastewater treatment plant contractors. Our crews have self-performed treatment plant construction on virtually every type of water or wastewater process and technology used in the country. From new construction to renovation and expansion, we understand the intricacies in bringing new systems online and working around existing facilities.

Pump Stations

Influent and effluent pump stations have been a mainstay at Garney for 30 years. We have built greenfield construction, as well as minor and major upgrades of pump stations, intake structures, lift stations, discharging systems, and high service booster stations.

Tank

Water storage tanks have been part of Garney’s specialties across the country since the mid-90s. Our work experience includes circular and rectangular concrete tanks. Garney crews are familiar with all types of pre-stressed and post-tensioned concrete tanks including AWWA D115, AWWA D110 Types I, II, & III, conventional reinforcement, as well as steel construction. We have constructed circular potable tanks with up to 20 million gallons of capacity and rectangular concrete basins up to 120 million gallons.

Marine

Garney’s experience building waterworks infrastructure in the aqueous environment spans decades. We know what it takes to successfully work on top of and under rivers, lakes, and reservoirs. Projects we have successfully delivered include raw water intakes of various configurations, river crossings, inverted siphons and outfall diffuser systems, built for the municipal and industrial sectors under design-build and conventional contracting delivery methods. Garney owns and operates a fleet of construction vessels including boats, sectional barges, long-reach excavators, and cranes. Garney is unique in having the people, expertise, and equipment to self-perform the construction of all elements of waterworks infrastructure.

Heavy Civil

At Garney, our passion is water. Our heavy civil experience extends to any project involved in the water cycle, including concrete work associated with storm drainage structures, culverts, channels, junction boxes, inlets/outlets, vaults, foundations, tunnels, dams, reservoirs, intakes, outfalls, and spillways. In addition, our crews have experience building industrial foundations, fuel containment, and railroad turntables.

Site Work

We move dirt. A lot of it. And, while this is a strength, this is not where we stop. We have the ability and expertise to offer complete turnkey site solutions. Our site work capabilities encompass all clearing and grubbing, site excavation, storm drainage installation, water installation, sanitary sewers, or any heavy civil and environmental work in in the site development market.
