Through a proposal process, the City of Montrose, Colorado, selected Garney to provide a new 3 MG DYK water storage tank. This $3 million design-build project included a pre-stressed concrete tank on a foundation that has 133 24″ to 30″ drill piers. Using value engineering prior to signing the contract, Garney was able to work with the client to provide them this project within their budget limitations. The base slab on the project consisted of 1,077 CY of concrete that was poured in one placement which was the largest pour to date in Montrose County. Garney’s ability to offer cost savings and value engineering has led the City to be very pleased with the project’s progression.
