Georgia-Pacific selected Garney to rehabilitate a flume line that had deteriorated due to abrasive conditions in the pipeline at their paper mill in New Augusta, Mississippi. The project called for re-lining the existing flume line with a new pipeline. To do this, Garney sliplined 1,220 LF of 42″ Hobas pipe in the existing 48″ flume line, which ran under the paper mill’s woodyard. A straight run of 1,100 LF was sliplined in one continuous length. After the pipe was installed, the entire annular space was grouted for additional stability. The major challenge of this project was that the entire project needed to be completed during a 10-day outage while the flume line was out of service.
