Lone Tree, Colorado – June 11 –
Denver Water recently awarded Garney a $7.5 million contract to construct the Lone Tree Reservoir Basin No. 2. This project is being built to add necessary capacity for local fire response in the Lone Tree community. The project includes 100,000 cubic yards of excavation, the construction of a 10 MG post-tensioned concrete tank, six feet of lime treated soil beneath the base slab, and 54" inlet and outlet piping. An allowance of $300,000 has been set aside for a forthcoming City and HOA-approved landscaping plan. A challenge of the project will be close proximity to residential neighborhoods and an elementary school. An extremely accelerated schedule demands the fastest construction of any similar tank built in Colorado. The placement of the tank slab is scheduled for October 2011 and the deck pour is slated for February 2012. The tank will be backfilled by May 1, 2012 and final completion of grading and landscaping is currently set for August 2012.
