Tarrant Regional Water District awarded this $43 million project to Garney in September 2006. The project included installing 47,000 LF of 84" and 400 LF of 78" mortar-lined, polyurethane-coated steel pipe. Garney also constructed several large underground cast-in-place concrete structures and two above-ground electrical buildings. The job included more than 650 LF of 102" tunnels under existing roadways and a subaqueous installation of 700 LF of 78" Hobas pipe. In addition, an outlet structure was installed in Eagle Mountain Lake in waters as deep as 30 feet. A little more than half of the installation was in cross country conditions, with 23,000 LF requiring rock trenching. The balance of the pipeline was installed in more urban conditions adjacent to and into existing pavement and housing developments. The project was complete by May 2008.
